High Cholesterol REALLY Means...

I don't have to remind you that cholesterol drugs are everywhere. It seems like everyone and their uncle is on some sort of cholesterol lowering medication, also known as statins. I would like to devote some time to explain a different perspective about cholesterol-lowering medications. The problem with this approach is twofold.

First, the body is not a stupid contraption. The human body is the most amazing and brilliant machine imaginable. To assume that the body erroneously makes too much cholesterol is ignorant and misguided. When you understand how the digestive system works, you then begin to see that high cholesterol is a response the body is giving. Often times, heightened cholesterol is because the body NEEDS it. Protein and fat digestion is not properly taking place.

Second, it is never wise to fool Mother Nature. When you analyze the statin drugs, the research points to a strong disruption of Co-enzyme Q-10. This enzyme is essential for muscular health and that my friends, includes the heart. These statin drugs can diminish the amount of CoQ10 production in the body and that creates muscle weakness, not to mention a potential complication for the heart. So, yet again we see medicine being thrown at symptoms, in this case high cholesterol. The cause of high cholesterol is not because you skipped your Lipitor for breakfast. The cause of high cholesterol can absolutely be linked to digestion deficiencies. This is where I could really help you improve your health.

If you are interested in lowering your cholesterol, NATURALLY, then I would love to talk to you. (586) 685-2222.

Antacids Part 2

Click above to hear Dr. Christine
The Digestion Doctor

On the last post, I explained the typical medical protocol for heartburn sufferers. To review: a heartburn complaint is quickly met with an antacid prescription of some kind.

As I stated last post, a compromised stomach lining is the problem, NOT stomach acidity. In fact, there are 2 NECESSARY sequences that MUST OCCUR in the digestive system. These 2 sequences ONLY occur when the stomach has enough acid.

They are:

1. Initiation of protein digestion
2. Initiation of mineral absorption

When the stomach acid is INTENTIONALLY lowered by these medications,
your body starves for appropriate protein digestion and mineral absorption.

The complications of antacids are staggering. Gallstones, Constipation, Irritability are only a few of the direct problems caused by antacid medications.

If you want a natural solution to your chronic heartburn, call my office:

Is Your Antacid Causing...

Click above to listen
to Dr. Christine

Many people are unaware of the massive deception that exists regarding antacid medications. One of the common statements doctors make to their patients is that they are "making too much stomach acid." Hence, the prescription written for Prilosec, Aciphex, Nexium, etc.

What I'd like to clarify is that the reason people have heartburn is because they have a compromised stomach mucosal lining. It is NOT because they are producing too much acid! The lining is what really needs repair. Lowering the acid production in the stomach is a dangerous choice that can lead to many other health challenges.

Some of the health troubles created by antacids are:
  • Gallstones
  • Kidney Stones
  • Chronic Constipation
  • Chronic Fatigue
  • Insomnia
  • Irritability
  • Depression

Stay tuned for my next post where I discuss the natural methods I employ to fix the stomach lining...without drugs!
